UTC Students Visit Bombardier Plant in Quebec
UTC students from the Outdoor Power Technologies program visited and toured the Bombardier Recreation Plant in Valcourt, Quebec on Friday, November 11. BRP’s portfolio includes Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft, Can-Am on- and off-road vehicles, Evinrude and Rotax marine propulsion systems as well as Rotax engines for karts, motorcycles and recreational aircraft. BRP supports its line of products with a dedicated parts, accessories and clothing business. Instructors George Bergeron, Chuck Jacobson, and Ethan Dysart took students on the five hour trip to the manufacturing plant. Students got an opportunity to watch employers on the assembly line actually constructing snowmobiles. The trip included a visit to the onsite J. Armand Bombardier Museum. The mission of the museum is to showcase the legacy of Joseph-Armand Bombardier and his successors to show visitors that everyone has the ability to solve problems, to be ingenious, and to be innovative in their personal and professional pursuits. The spirit of Bombardier is inspiring, infectious, and a source of pride. Feedback from students was very positive.
