Public Safety Students Visit LifeFlight of Maine
UTC Public Safety had a tour of the LifeFlight of Maine facility. Flight RN Charlie Beller gave the tour. The students also met two of the pilots and the mechanics, as well as the Life Flight dispatcher Terry Carlisle.
The students also got certificates for Life Flights Ground Safety School which shows the proper way to set up a landing zone as well as the capabilities of the aircraft and when to call for air medical transport.
The students also were able to view the medical equipment that is unique to Life Flight, such as ventilators, neonatal transport isolette, ISTAT laboratory machine, and the human patient simulators (HAL) which are infant, pediatric and adult models.
