United Technologies Center

The Weatherization Training Center at United Technologies Center (UTC) in Bangor was established by MaineHousing in support of the US Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program to enhance the hands-on training component of weatherization field workers including auditors and weatherization technicians.  Training courses are offered through the UTC Adult Education Program.

Full course descriptions and detailed schedules are available from the adult education office at 947-6474 or on-line at www.utcae.com.  All courses are taught at United Technologies Center (UTC), the regional public Career & Technical Education secondary school in Bangor.

The facilities at UTC include a 20' x 10' computer controlled “pressure house”, blower doors, thermal cameras, combustion analyzers, calculators, spray foam equipment, cellulose insulation blower, and fully equipped shop.
