UTC Celebrates 58 Years of Home Grown Staff Talent
Defining success for UTC graduates usually takes us out in the community where we see our graduates contributing to the many post-secondary academic institutions and businesses both in and out of Maine. However, to observe some of our successful alumni one only has to walk down the hall or up the stairs at UTC. Nothing is more satisfying to a school than to see graduates return to share their skills and abilities as employees at their technical school alma mater. UTC is fortunate to have six such individuals.
Bradley Oakes attended UTC from 2013 through 2015. After he graduated he attended theUniversity of Maine in the Computer Science Program. Currently he is the new assistant teacher in the Information Technology Program.
Ethan Dysart is the Heavy Equipment Technology instructor at UTC. He attended UTC from 2010 through 2013. He went to Eastern Maine Community College and obtained an Associate’s Degree. After working at Hamlin Marine and Milton – Cat then joined the UTC staff this current school year.
Tricia Jellison is one of UTC’s two Culinary Arts/Hospitality instructors. Tricia attended UTC from1996 through 1998. Upon graduation she completed the Culinary program at Eastern Maine Community College. She worked as a private chef and joined the UTC faculty 16 years ago. Tricia is also the dining room manager at the Bangor Conference and Banquet Center
Russ Flewelling also is an instructor in the UTC Culinary Arts/Hospitality. Russ attended UTC from 1994 through 1996. He got his Culinary Arts degree from Eastern Maine Community College. He worked as a private chef until he joined the UTC staff 11 years ago. Russ also is the master baker at the Union River restaurant in the summer.
Shannon Commeau attended UTC in 1993-94. She went to work locally for an attorney. Shannon joined the UTC staff as the Administrative Assistant to the Director and Assistant Director 18 years ago to the present.
Dawn Mitchell is one of the Two Health Occupations instructors. Dawn attended UTC 1982 through 1984. She received her nursing degree from Husson College and worked as a registered nurse at various nursing homes in the area as well as at Mayo Regional Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center. She has been at UTC for 11 years.
