
Second year Health Occupations students participate in the CNA & CRMA course. This program is offered to seniors at UTC who want to earn important certifications that lead to amazing career opportunities immediately after high school or while attending college upon high school graduation. This program is an academically rigorous and physically demanding program that emphasizes teamwork, interpersonal relationships, and effective communication skills necessary in a health care setting. The following topics are presented in the classroom, practiced in the skill training lab, and reinforced during your clinical training on site:
– Human anatomy & function – Medical Terminology
– Human growth & development – Patient observation & legal responsibility
– Safety & infection control practices – Basic patient care techniques
– Emergency care & CPR certification – Medications and effects on body systems
– Medication classification – Medication administration
– Medication measurements

3 high school credits for each year and college credits while still in high school
