Sleds, marine engines, side by sides, dirt bikes Sea-Doo’s and all power equipment are your opportunity to build a great career. Interested owning your own business, perhaps an outdoor power equipment dealership? Maybe you have an interest in racing dirt bikes or snowmobiles? Students will work with the STIHL, Yamaha Marine and  Bombardier Recreational Products Training Institute Curricula. The Maine Warden Service recommends this program for troubleshooting and repairing your own equipment. Outdoor Recreation Equipment is an amazing opportunity to learn critical skills and have fun. Positive attitude, willingness to learn and good attendance .are all necessary for success.

Outdoor Power is a two-year program with 70% lab and 30% classroom. Positive attitude, willingness to learn and good attendance are all necessary for success.

Career Paths:  Electronic/Electrical System Technician, Marine Technician, Motorcycle Repair Technician, Outboard Motor Shop Technician, Parts and Accessories Sales, Self-Employment, Small Engine Power Equipment Shop Technician

3 high school credits for each year and college credits while still in high school

Requirements

Pre-requisite Academic Courses:

  • Ability to read, comprehend & write at a high school level
  • Strong basic math, decimal/fractions, metric/SAE conversions
